remote are a Manchester-based indie-pop/alternative duo blending introspective songwriting with shimmering in-house production, creating music for fans of CMAT, Ryan Beatty and Role Model while building every aspect of their project entirely independently.
Long Bio
remote are a Manchester-based indie-pop/alternative duo made up of singer/guitarist Alex and drummer/bassist Ruben. Writing with emotional honesty at the forefront, the duo have developed a style that seamlessly blends indie-pop, alternative and singer-songwriter sensibilities. Drawing inspiration from artists as varied as Boney M and Vulfpeck to Remi Wolf, their music resonates with fans of CMAT, FINNEAS and Ryan Beatty. From recording, producing, mixing and mastering their music to directing visuals and manufacturing their own merchandise, every element of the project is developed independently by the duo themselves. Now firmly established on the live circuit, remote have headlined Manchester venues including 33 Oldham Street and Retro, supported artists at The Deaf Institute, Off the Square and The Castle Hotel, and reached major milestones opening for internationally touring artists including Justin Nozuka (Canada), Bulgarian Cartrader (Bulgaria) and Letters to Lions (Australia) in Manchester. After making their festival debut at Eskfest in the Lake District in 2025, remote have continued to expand beyond their Manchester roots, with planned performances in cities including London (New Wave Live at The Finsbury) and Leeds (Oporto) in the coming months. In September 2026, the duo will make their international showcase festival debut at Live at Heart in Örebro, Sweden—an important milestone that reflects growing industry interest and marks the beginning of their efforts to build industry relationships and grow their community across Europe. Their music has received support from BBC Introducing, Radio X's X-Posure with John Kennedy, Radio Altrincham and Future Hits Radio, alongside editorial playlist placements on Spotify's Our Generation, Fresh Finds UK & IE, Peach and Common Thread, as well as Apple Music's New in Alternative and New Music Daily. Their releases have also been featured by ASBO Magazine, 1883 Magazine's On Rotation and Atwood Magazine. With growing recognition across live, editorial, radio and press, remote continue to build momentum while laying the foundations for a long-term international career, with further UK/ European touring and showcase festival opportunities firmly in their sights.
